Motorola’s smartphone plans for the year ahead have been leaked in a presentation slide on Evan Blass’ Twitter account, and it appears there are five phone ranges on their way, including a Moto X. Blass has also tweeted an image showing Moto X4, which all but confirms the official name of the new phone.

The presentation slide shows two Moto Z flagship phones: Moto Z Play and Moto Z Force, a solo Moto X model, the two Moto G phones: G5 and G5 Plus, a Moto E and Moto E Plus and an entry-level C-series comprising a Moto C and Moto C Plus.

The Moto X is the interesting model, as it fits into a very narrow gap between the Moto G mid-range series and Moto Z flagships. We’ve heard rumours surrounding a Moto X handset before, dating back to December 2016, but these turned out to be the Moto G mid0range series instead.

Lenovo has a couple new budget devices up its sleeve.

While at MWC 2017 in February, Lenovo-owned Motorola unveiled the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus for £169 and £259, respectively. If you thought Lenovo was done with affordable smartphones for the year, you’re wrong, according to VentureBeat’s Evan Blass. He has claimed Motorola is planning to release two more entry-level Android 7.0 Nougat smartphones (presumably this year).

Microsoft apps will be pre-loaded on Lenovo and Motorola Android devices

There was a time when Microsoft was seen as the enemy of the Linux and Apple communities. Understandably, at the time, the company only wanted Windows to succeed. Nowadays, however, the operating system is sort of inconsequential. Microsoft seems happy to have its software succeed on ‘competitor’ platforms such as iOS, Android, macOS, Ubuntu and more.

Today, Microsoft announces that it has partnered with Lenovo on a new mobile initiative. The Windows-maker’s productivity apps will be pre-loaded on Lenovo and Motorola-branded devices running Google’s Linux-based Android operating system.

Motorola Moto G4 review Budget phone king goes large, remains in charge

Looking for a big yet affordable phone? That’s Motorola’s play with the fourth-gen Moto G – aptly titled the G4, finally putting to bed the confusingly same-name previous three generations – which dons a 5.5-inch screen and, therefore, an inevitably large body. It cuts a whole new jib, starting the G-series anew.

Affordable is the key word, too. With a starting price of £169 for the 16GB model the Moto G4 is only incrementally more expensive than its predecessors, while sitting below many competitors’ sub-£200 price points.

Lenovo announced today the first yearly loss in six years, as the group struggled to integrate Motorola and faced plummeting sales in the critical Chinese market.

Lenovo’s overall performance (including PCs and enterprise) was poor: the company posted full year revenue of $44.9 billion (down 3%) and a net loss of $128 million.

Lenovo’s Mobile Business Group recorded sales of $1.7 billion in the final quarter of the fiscal year 2015 (ending March 31). The unit sold 10.9 million smartphones in the quarter, bringing the yearly total to 66.1 million.

It doesn’t matter how advanced or smart your smartphone is if it gets shattered each time it falls! The flaw isn’t fixated to Apple iPhones, which if you remember would bend inside your pockets, but to almost all the phones (except vintage Nokia) that would easily break.

Motorola has, however, come up with its own hulk version of a smartphone that just won’t break. Motorola DROID Turbo 2 is the phone which won’t bother you with the unnecessary care-taking measures while using.
