MIUI launched on August 16 2010 with just 100 users and five years later the Android-based software is enjoyed by over 150 million users. They’ll soon get access to version 7 of MIUI, coming soon to a number of Xiaomi devices.

The highlights of the new version include new default themes and a daily lock screen with different award-winning photographs each day (this feature will debut in India). The interface is designed to support huge fonts so you don’t have to peer at tiny type on high resolution screens.

Back in 2013 Panasonic gave up on smartphones, but later changed its mind. Today it launched three new Android 5.1 powered smartphones in India. All three boast 4G LTE connectivity and have two SIM slots.

Panasonic Eluga L2

The biggest of the three, the Eluga L2 boasts a 5.5″ screen (we’re waiting on confirmation of the screen size). It measures 8.6mm thick and weighs 158g, reasonable for the screen size and price segment. The battery is a bit of a letdown, however, at only 2,500mAh.

Samsung isn’t taking its time with releasing the dual SIM version of the Galaxy Note5 and is already accepting pre-orders. The info comes from the Philippines, but we’d expect all markets to follow soon – of course, the ones where the dual SIM Note5 is meant to be available at all, as previous generations could only be found in select countries.

Meanwhile, an actual retail unit of the said device was the star of a photo shoot in Taiwan, bringing an unpleasant revelation.

Samsung’s soon to be revealed Gear S2 smartwatch made an appearance in a duo of official promo images. Earlier today, Samsung caught everyone by surprise by teasing the upcoming wearable device at the end of the Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ official announcement.

The latest images of the Samsung Gear S2 are part of a decidedly trendy Lookbook with shots of Samsung’s newly announced products. In the promo materials, fashion models flaunt the smartwatch with white and black wristband.

In today’s highly dynamic and even chaotic mobile realm there is little certainty in terms of roadmaps and release schedules. Apple, however, is still upholding the values of diligence and continuity and, as expected, a new wave of iPhones is inbound on September 9. In keeping with the long-standing naming convention, we can also be fairly sure that these will be the iPhone 6s and the 6s Plus.

This means than in all likelihood Apple is going to continue its new phablet line, but there has also been mention of a successor to the infamous iPhone 5c. Previous rumors brought us info on the smaller smartphone and even a few alleged shots of its casing, but the estimated launch date was a few month after the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
