You’ve got to give BlackBerry credit for refusing to die. After the underwhelming launch and life of BB10, the company pledged allegiance to Android, whipped up a strangely cool slider phone, then farmed out production of all new BlackBerrys to external partners. The journey has been difficult to watch at times, but it seems like the transition is starting to pay off. After a pair of all-touch phones, BlackBerry and partner TCL have released the KEYone, heralding the return of the classic candy-bar-with-keyboard design.

The Priv was an ambitious attempt at a flagship, and the DTEK50 and DTEK60 were barely recognizable as part of the line. The KEYone, however, is the first BlackBerry in years to feel, well, like a BlackBerry. Surprise, surprise: It’s a pretty great little phone, too. Fans will be glad to know the KEYone is the best Android-powered BlackBerry to date, but I don’t expect this to move the needle for many others.

Details on the new entry-level Moto E phones from Lenovo-owned Motorola have leaked out.

The upcoming budget smartphones, likely called a Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus, will be Android 7.1 devices, according to the German website Winfuture.de. The smaller Moto E4 will not be too different from last year’s Moto E3, as it’ll feature the same 5-inch HD display and 2,800mAh battery. It will however have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, whereas the Moto E3 only had 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.

Less than two weeks after the specs leaked online, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi 6 flagship smartphone. The Mi 6 doesn’t quite compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S8 or LG G6 when it comes to screen-to-body ratio, nor does it follow in the design footsteps of Xiaomi’s own Mi MIX.

The Mi 6 instead has a four-sided curved glass screen, with bezels top and bottom and slim ones flanking the 5.15-inch full HD display.

Lenovo has a couple new budget devices up its sleeve.

While at MWC 2017 in February, Lenovo-owned Motorola unveiled the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus for £169 and £259, respectively. If you thought Lenovo was done with affordable smartphones for the year, you’re wrong, according to VentureBeat’s Evan Blass. He has claimed Motorola is planning to release two more entry-level Android 7.0 Nougat smartphones (presumably this year).

Big phones are a big deal. And the Honor 8 Pro is the company’s largest phone to date, with a whopping 5.7-inch screen wrapped into similar-to-iPhone-7-Plus proportions. If you want screen real estate and resolution then this is the Honor for you.

However, the Pro is a rather different proposition to the mid-level, smaller-scale Honor 8. The Pro is obviously larger, but it also does away with the hallmark ultra-gloss rear in favour of a softer blue matte option (black and gold are also available). It still looks great, but lacks that core point of distinction of the original.

The screen on at least one version of Apple’s upcoming iPhone will be curved in some way — if you believe a new report that claims Apple has ordered 70 million OLED screens from Samsung.

Nikkei Asian Review, who published the report Tuesday citing sources close to Apple’s supply chain, has no other details about the order, but says the screens will be used in a phone.

Apple is rumored to be launching three new iPhones this fall: Two with a regular, LCD screen, and a “premium” variant that will have a curved OLED screen. Judging by the size of this order, Apple expects this version — which is also rumored to be pricier than usual — to sell well.

It’s not often a phone is revealed in a green color finish. Or “greenery” to give it full credit. Which, as it so happens, is Pantone’s color of the year 2017. It’s also Huawei’s oh-so-on-trend color for its brand new P10 smartphone.

Yes, ok, so you’re staring at blue version of the device for this review (technically “dazzling blue” in Huawei speak) – but this one is actually the best-looking color of the lot (mystic silver, graphite black and dazzling gold will also join the UK line-up).
